1939-45  • Army Cloth Shoulder Titles

Nearly all insignia on a 1939-45 soldier was cloth and only visible from the side.

	Early titles were black script on drab. These slipped onto the shoulder straps. Difficult to read in photographs.
	Later most Infantry titles were white script on red . Sewn under the shoulder seam.
	Other units of the army had titles in their arms-of service colours.Shown here is the yellow and blue of the Royal Army Service Corps.
