The imminent threat of invasion produced precautions such as the removal of road signs and control of photography
There was a belief that any invasion of Britain would be proceded by infiltration of "fifth columnists" who would prepare the way for the invading army. As a result the public became over sensitive to any possible illicit activity such as photography.
This leaflet was produced to encourage legitimate photography, presumably because of the effect this fear was having on the trade. wartime photography leaflet
