Reminiscent of a sailor's collar this style appeared at the end of the war.

Ironically the women who wore the falling collar may well have worn the sailor suit as girls at the beginning of the war.

Throughout the war many women on Munitions work wore a blouse with a protruding falling collar to soften the appearance of their working clothes.
